It encompasses the state-of-the-art Research Facility, Surgery Centers (including the Chesapeake Ambulatory Surgery Center and the Chesapeake Plastic Surgery Suite) and a Foot and Ankle Center. Our multiple treatment rooms and overnight capabilities (easily topping 15 subjects) help power robust enrollment numbers. From surgical studies to PK studies, CRG is the most convenient research facility for both sponsors and patients.

Research Facility

Chesapeake Research Group Outside

CRG is proud to offer a newly renovated 6,000-square-foot research facility. It contains 15 overnight patient rooms, dedicated monitor rooms, a conference room, a large clinical laboratory, two-room, temperature-controlled and video-monitored pharmacy, two large nurses stations, and a private research waiting area. The facility is completed with ample on-site storage for study supplies, a kitchen, offices for administrative staff and on-site laundry. Our offices are equipped with calibrated medical equipment for monitoring and safety along with wi-fi for both our patients and our pharmaceutical/CRO colleagues.

Surgery Centers

The Chesapeake Ambulatory Surgery Center is an office-based ASC. It is used by the our staff surgeons to perform foot- and ankle-related surgeries. Located on the CRG campus, the center was formed in 1992. At the time, performing outpatient surgery in a non-hospital setting was not the norm and way ahead of today’s trends. Additionally, it provides our patients and research study participants affordable specialty care that is both safe and convenient. The sterile facility has virtually no occurrence of infections. In fact, ASC infection rates are much lower than hospital-based cases both in number and severity.

The Chesapeake Plastic Surgery Suite is an office-based ASC where our consultant plastic surgeons perform plastic surgery. We opened the center in 2015 to meet the needs of our ever expanding clinical studies. In addition to clinical trial cases, the plastic surgeons perform their private practice cases in the center as well.

Foot and Ankle Center

Dr. Ira J. Gottlieb, started his private practice in 1988 with the goal of providing advanced surgical foot and ankle care with an emphasis on strong interpersonal communication. While there have been changes over the years. Dr G., as he likes to be called, prides himself on providing a warm, caring and personal experience for all of his patients. We explain each and every patient’s condition to them in a clear manner. This invites cooperation, which in turn results in a rapid resolution of conditions and return to full function/recovery.
